Blog + Design
Domain Names: NameCheap
NameCheap has always been the best and most affordable in my experience. They always have a monthly coupon code available to save you a few cents on new domain registrations. Be sure to do a quick search in Google before placing your order.
Web Hosting: Siteground
Siteground is one of the most reliable, affordable, and customer service friendly web hosting providers for beginning bloggers. Hosting is available for as low as $3.95/month. You can also get your .com domain free with Siteground!

Blogging Platform: WordPress
When you have paid for your hosting, WordPress can be installed for free. This is the actual platform your blog will be housed on. It does have a small learning curve, but it’s very user friendly once you get the hang of it! My “How to Start a Blog” tutorial discusses how to install WordPress within minutes.
Email List Builder: ConvertKit
ConvertKit is the most recommended newsletter autoresponder for bloggers! I love how intuitive the program is, and it is filled with features that make building an email list super easy!
Photo Editing: Picmonkey
I have been using Picmonkey for about 3 years now to resize, crop, and edit images for my blog. It’s easy to add text to images with Picmonkey to make them pinnable. The basic features of Picmonkey are free, but I pay for the royal membership (currently $33/year) to access more fonts and features.
WordPress Themes: Genesis by StudioPress
Genesis has many child themes that you can use on your WordPress blog, to customize its look and feel. I love the simplicity of editing a Genesis theme. My blog is currently using the Magazine Child Theme for Genesis.
Keyword Research Tool: Jaaxy
I recently replaced the keyword tool I have used for 5 years with Jaaxy, and I couldn’t be happier! Jaaxy helps me find the best phrases I should be using in my blog posts. There is a red/yellow/green light that helps you decide how easy a keyword is to rank for, and you can estimate how much traffic you will receive if you land on the first page for a keyword. This web based tool is quick and easy to use!
Social Media
Social Media Tool: CoSchedule
CoSchedule has saved me a great deal of time updating social media. With the plugin, I can easily set up and share my blog posts from within the WordPress dashboard. The editorial calendar makes it easy to see what I have scheduled when. Plus, if you sign up and write a review of the service, you can save 50% for the first year!
Pinterest Scheduler: Tailwind
Tailwind has drastically reduced the time I spend on Pinterest. In just a couple hours, I can schedule my own pins as well as other blogger’s pins so that my account stays active all week. Finding similar content my followers will love is even easier now with Tailwind’s Tribes!
Social Sharing Plugin: Social Warfare
Social Warfare makes it easy for your readers to share your content! Add share buttons to each blog post or page that match the color scheme of your blog theme. Plus, the plugin allows you to set the image that will be pinned or shared on Facebook and Twitter, so your readers share only the images YOU want them to.

She hasn’t left anything out, and even if you only try 3-4 of the strategies, I am sure you will see an increase in your traffic.

My all-time favorite pinning course! New or experienced pinners can gain the skills necessary to use Pinterest to its fullest. It’s perfect for holiday traffic, evergreen traffic, and affiliate sales! Check out the current holiday promo for Pinning Perfect!
